My brothers friends cousins sister knows a guy, who works for xyz, and they said… (someone also told me they also heard this on the radio)
This one was that gas stations were raising prices to $5 a gallon, and limited to 10 gallons…
In reality, prices did bump up about 10 cents at most places, and others took advantage of the situation and kicked prices by 30 or 40 cents a gallon.
The $5 a gallon did have some basis in reality, well if you were evacuating Houston, you would have been paying that…

The Shell station kicked it 30 cents... it is hard to read...

 All the Citgo’s (Hugh Chavez’s favorite gas station) is passed were all approaching the $3.89 mark, most above $3.69…

The simple fact is that the lowest prices of all the places I went by was Exxon, the oil company that everyone hates, simply because they make a profit. I don’t see people working for free, besides News flash, they don’t set the price of oil, nor are all their profits from the US market….

Who else besides the Germans, is going to come up with the idea to crash test segways…

I dropped my daughter off at work this afternoon, and was initially taken aback at the traffic at the shopping center, then I saw the lines at the gas station, they occasionally do some big time discount, and I normally ignore it, unless I happen to be there etc… Well it was complete pandemonium lines of cars 15+ deep, because they had gasoline at $2.99 down from $3.35 a gallon. Now I estimate it was probably taking 3 to 5 minutes per car, so if you do the math, you’re looking at close to an hour wait to save about $4.00 based on the average person puts in about 10 gallons when they gas up (Or at least used to)…

Considering that people working fast-food are making $6+ per hour, I am trying to figure out where the savings are… My logic says that if you make $6 per hour, and you wait an hour to save $4 you have lost $2 in income, and and hour of your life that you will never get back…

So now it is past 10 at night, My daughter is home from work, and guess what people are still waiting in line, well there are only 3 or 4 cars in each line…

I just got a live report from a neighbor, and my estimates where about right, he had 3 or 4 cars ahead of him and it took about 10-12 minutes for him to get to the pump. I was giving him a hard time, but he said he needed gas anyways, and he was already there… So I didn’t give him too much of a hard time…

Quit being sheep…

I tune to 101 this morning to listen to the Jay Thomas Show, and what do I hear, Madison, as well as my second guess for a new name, Shuli. Later in the day I switch over to “First Wave” and who’s there (well she’s there everyday at that time) but Madison, too bad I didn’t hear her on Bubba, getting her puss shocked…

So if that is not the name of the new entity, I have a better idea, an audio “Where’s Waldo” called “Where’s Madison”, but thinking about it, it wouldn’t be that hard, because it seems she’s on every freaking channel

I moved this and a few other blogs over to Movable Type,  about 6 months ago, and even though I liked the way most things worked with Movable Type, I didn’t like the lack of information, or at least the ease of finding the information I needed. The final incident was the release of MT4.1, and the complete lack of upgrade information. My perception was that here it is, go ahead and upgrade, but unless you are paying for support, good luck in getting any questions answered. My biggest complaint was that every time you do something to the site itself you need to “Publish” the site, and nothing clear as to when you “Have to” or “Should” publish your site.

So I spent the evening moving everything Ned back to WordPress, wasn’t that hard for this one, but I have a couple others that may take a while… I also guess I should write here more often…

You may be a redneck if you live in a state where signs erected by a State Agency are misspelled…
This wasn’t the only sign like this, we saw at least 5 more just like it.
Now I admit that I am not the greatest speller on the planet, but when I am doing something that will be viewed by the general public, I make sure that at least 2 other people take look and verify my spelling.
When I saw the first one, I just thought that someone in the neighborhood was just trying to help, and slightly missed the mark, but when I saw them all over the place…

So can anyone guess what state this is….

I guess this goes along with me earlier rant on “Slower Traffic Keep Right”

One of the key components of fuel economy is constant speed, so when the prius crowd feels that they need to show everyone else that they are better because they are driving a hybrid, and insist on driving 10 MPH under the speed limit, causing all of us gas guzzlers (Normal people) to slow down and pass on the right, causing all the other vehicles to alter speed, and re-accelerate, I’m guessing that any  fuel savings  by the  hybrid  driver  are offset by all this indirect waste of fuel.

The other thing I have thought about with hybrid’s and electrics is, what about all the increased use of chemicals for the batteries etc… Is that more then a regular gasoline vehicle.

I guess that Ford Escape commercial with the dad and daughter hit then nail on the head, when the dad says he didn’t think he had to tell everyone he had a hybrid…

I think that the hybrid fad is just that a fad, I’ll wait for hydrogen…

First of all no one is giving away anything for nothing.

Considering the current count of ratings whores in the news media, if a child were actually missing, that they wouldn’t they be all over it with team coverage. take a minute search the name, odds are your going to find the number one hit linking to snopes or similar hoax web site.

So next time someone sends you that important email to forward to the globe, don’t, and if you do stop bitching about spam…

I bet that Ashley Flores, or what ever her real name is, is either laughing her ass off every time this resurfaces, or is mortified and has to hide for a couple of weeks. I’m sure sometime in the future she’ll be the recipient of the exact same email..
